Thank you for choosing Lescent. Our pearled candles are made to give you a beautiful, customisable, and safe candle experience. They are easy to use and safer than traditional candles when used correctly. Follow these simple instructions to enjoy your pearled candle safely.

1. Preparing your candle

  • Choose a clean, dry, heat-safe container with a diameter of at least 10 cm.
  • Pour the wax pearls into the container, then insert the wick securely in the centre, making sure it stands upright. The wick should extend no more than 0.5 cm above the wax pearls.
  • Leave at least 5 cm of space between the wick and the rim of the container.
  • Ensure there is at least 2.5 cm of wax beneath the wick for proper burning.
  • If using a shallower container, trim the wick shorter to ensure a safe and even burn.

2. Lighting your candle

  • Light the wick carefully and allow a full melt pool to form across the surface around the wick during each use. This helps maintain an even burn.

3. Extinguishing Your Candle

  • Lescent pearled candles are designed to self-extinguish when the wax pool reaches the limit of available pearls or if the candle is accidentally tipped over.
  • The above is an additional layer of protection that does not replace safe standards practice. Be sure to always extinguish your candle safely.
  • To extinguish manually, gently blow out the flame or use a candle snuffer.
  • Do not use water to extinguish the flame.

Safety Guidelines

  • Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep away from drafts, flammable objects, children, and pets.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Allow the wax to cool completely before moving the candle.

Adding Fragrance

  • Lescent candles can be customised with your favourite essential oils for a personalised scent experience.
  • Add a few drops (2-5) of the essential oils around the wick before lighting it, doing it so at your own risk and comfort level.
  • Start with small amounts and adjust to your preference. Avoid adding too much oil, as this may affect the flame or safety of the candle.

Cleaning and Reusing Your Container

  • Once your candle is finished, let the wax cool and solidify.
  • Gently remove any remaining wax pearls from the container.
  • Wash your container with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly before reuse.

Safety & Disclaimer

When used correctly, Lescent pearled candles are safer than traditional candles.

Most importantly, keep the wick away from the container edges and bottom. This means you should have at least 5 cm of wax pearls around the wick (approximately a container diameter of 10 cm or more for a single-wick candle) and at least 2.5 cm of wax beneath the wick.

This design helps ensure that if your Lescent candle is accidentally left burning, the flame is expected -under normal conditions- to self-extinguish when it reaches the end of the wick without overheating the container. It will also typically self-extinguish if tipped over.

Even with these safety features, accidents can still happen, so please follow good fire safety practices:

  1. Never burn your candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
  2. Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
  3. Keep away from drafts and flammable objects.
  4. Never leave your candle burning unattended.

Lescent candle pearls are plant-based and non-toxic but are not edible. Avoid contact with eyes to prevent irritation.
